Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil, extra virgin
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (or fave pasta sauce)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 7 oz broken pasta noodles (about 7 lasagna noodles broken)
  • 1 1/2 tsp basil (dried)
  • 1 tsp oregano (dried)
  • 1 tsp rosemary (dried)
  • 1 tsp thyme (dried)
  • 1 bunch parsley (chopped for garnish)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 dollop of ricotta (topping )

Directions

    In Dutch oven or pot, brown ground beef then drain and set aside

    Add oil to pan and Sautee onion and garlic until onion translucent
  3. 3
    Add tomato paste and cook 2 min
  4. 4
    Add crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, chicken broth and season with the herbs

    Add meat back to pot and stir to incorporate everything
  6. 6
    Add your broken pasta and add the salt and pepper to taste and the sugar

    Let everything come to boil then reduce heat and cook about 10 min or until pasta cooked through

    Top with a dollop of ricotta and parsley!
