Lasagna-Style Casserole

Ingredients

  • 6 oz. large bow tie pasta (2 1/4 c.)
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (15 oz.) can pizza sauce
  • 1 tsp. minced dry onion
  • 1/2 tsp. dry basil, crushed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. Ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

    Cook pasta until tender; drain.

    Fry meat until browned; drain off fat.

    Add pizza sauce, onion and basil to meat and mix well. In a bowl, combine egg and cottage cheese or Ricotta.

    In a greased 12 x 9 1/2 x 2-inch baking dish, layer half of the pasta. Spoon cheese mixture over pasta.

    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Layer remaining pasta, meat and Mozzarella cheese.

    Bake, covered, at 425° for 15 minutes.

    Uncover and bake 5 to 8 minutes longer or until heated through.
