Layer Fruit Cake

Name: Layer Fruit Cake
Ingredients: 1 c. butter or margarine; 4 eggs; 2 c. sugar; 1 c. milk plus juice from cherries; 3 c. flour; 1 tsp. baking powder; 2 c. nuts; 2 (8 oz.) cherries; 1 tsp. allspice; 1 box dates; 8 oz. raisins

1 c. butter or margarine
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. milk plus juice from cherries
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. nuts
2 (8 oz.) cherries
1 tsp. allspice
1 box dates
8 oz. raisins

Directions

Cream sugar and butter; add egg yolks (beaten), then add milk and juice, flour and baking powder.

Beat egg whites stiff and fold in last.

Divide into 2 parts.

To one part, add 2 cups nuts and two 8 ounce packages of cherries.

To the other part, add 1 teaspoon of allspice, 1 box dates (chopped) and 8 ounces of raisins.

Bake in layer pans (4).

Put together alternate layers with filling.
