Layer Lettuce Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 head lettuce, broken up
  • 1 c. celery, diced
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas (raw) *
  • 1/2 c. green pepper, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 8 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
  • 1 c. mayonnaise (or more, if needed)
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 oz. Cheddar cheese, coarsely grated

Directions

    Put broken-up lettuce in 9 x 13-inch dish.

    Layer rest of ingredients in order given.

    Add sugar to mayonnaise.

    Spread on top as frosting. Top with cheese.

    Cover and store in refrigerator 8 to 12 hours.

    Garnish with pieces of crisp bacon.
