Leek and Shallot Rice

  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 3 12 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, diced
  • 1 leek, diced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning

Directions

    Bring water, oil, and rice to a boil and then reduce to simmer.

    Simmer for 40 minutes or until done.

    After rice is cooked melt butter in a skillet and saute leek, shallot, and garlic for about 5 minutes or until tender.

    Add rice and seasoning to butter and saute for 4-5 minutes stirring to prevent rice from burning.
