- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 c. flour
- 1 c. buttermilk
- lemon
- 1 c. pecans, finely chopped
Directions

1Cream the butter and sugar.

2Beat in eggs. Finely grate the lemon rind (reserve lemon) and add to bread batter.

3Stir flour with salt and soda and add alternately with buttermilk.

4Pour batter into two lightly greased and floured 9 x 3-inch bread pans and bake at 350° for 1 hour or until bread springs back to the touch.
