- 1 cup margarine
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 cup finely chopped nuts
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Rind of one lemon, grated
- 3 lemons
Directions

1Cream margarine and sugar. Add other ingredients.

2Mix juice of 3 lemons, strained and 1 cup sugar, stirring occasionally over low heat until sugar dissolves.

3Grease two 9 x 5 x 3 pans. Bake at 350° for one hour.

4When bread is done, take out of pan and place on foil or wax paper to wrap.

5Spoon lemon mixture over loaves till all is gone.

6Cool and wrap. Freeze.

7This makes it easier to slice.

8It is better if frozen for 2 to 3 days.

9May be frozen longer.
