- 5 Tbsp. margarine
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. sugar
- grated rind of 1 lemon
- 2 eggs, unbeaten
- 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Cream the margarine. Add salt. Add sugar gradually. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

2Add grated lemon rind. Sift flour.

3Measure and sift together with baking powder. Add alternately to creamed mixture with 1/2 cup milk. Add chopped walnuts. Turn into well-greased bread pan and bake at 350° for 55 minutes. Take from oven.

4Place pan on rack and spoon the Lemon Topping over hot loaf.
