Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 5 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • grated peel of 1 lemon
  • 3 egg yolks, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. milk, scalded
  • 3 egg whites, beaten stiff

Directions

    Combine first 4 ingredients.

    Add lemon juice and peel.
  3. 3
    Add to combined egg yolks and milk.

    Mix well.

    Fold in egg whites and pour into greased custard cups.

    Bake in pan of hot water in 325° oven for 45 minutes or bake in greased shallow baking dish.
