- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. lemon rind
- 1/2 pt. whipped cream
Directions

1Beat 4 egg whites.

2Add cream of tartar and 1 cup sugar slowly.

3Bake at 300° 1 hour in greased 8 x 8-inch pan.

4Beat 4 egg yolks.

5Add lemon juice, rind and 1/2 cup sugar.

6Cook until thick.

7Let cool.

8Add water if too thick.

9Add lemon mixture over meringue.

10Spread with 1/2 pint whipped cream.
