- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3/4 c. water
- 1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
- 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. grated lemon peel
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Directions

1In saucepan, mix the sugar, cornstarch and dash of salt.

2Add water, egg yolk and lemon juice.

3Cook over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly.

4Remove from heat; add lemon peel and butter.

5Cool.

6Makes 4 cups.
