- 2 c. shortening
- 4 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- dash of salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 12 oz. white raisins
- 1 (2 oz.) bottle lemon extract
- 4 c. nuts
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and fold in flour, salt and baking powder.

2Add lemon extract and pour hot water over raisins.

3Let set for 2 hours, then add to cake mixture.

4Add nuts.

5Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.
