- 6 oz. butter or margarine
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. lemon juice
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- grated rind of 1 lemon
Directions

1Cream butter, 1 cup sugar and eggs.

2Beat until light and fluffy.

3Add milk alternately with flour that has been blended with baking powder.

4Mix well.

5Add lemon rind and nuts.

6Bake in 8 1/2 x 4 x 2-inch loaf pan at 350° for 1 hour.

7Remove from oven. Combine lemon juice with 1/4 cup sugar; pour over hot bread.

8Let stand until cool before removing from pan.
