  • 6 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vinegar
  • 1 1/2 lemons or 1/3 c. lemon juice
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 pt. whipping cream
  • 2 tsp. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • coconut

Directions

    Beat egg whites, then add 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla and vinegar, then add 1 1/2 cups sugar gradually and continue beating. Don't beat too stiff.

    Cover back of a large cookie sheet with foil. Spread egg white mixture over foil.

    Bake at 300° for 1 hour. Cool in oven with heat off and door open, very gradually, about 1 hour.
