- 1 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 4 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. water
- 3 eggs
- 1/3 c. lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Directions

1Mix sugar, flour, cornstarch and salt.

2Beat egg yolks and add most of the water.

3Cook until it boils, stirring all the time. Add lemon juice and butter or margarine.

4Add 6 tablespoons of sugar, 1 at a time, until the egg whites stand in peaks, stiff and glossy.

5Pile on top of filling in a baked pie shell.

6Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400°.
