Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. hot water or 1 c. hot water and 1 c. sweet milk
  • 1 grated lemon rind
  • 1/2 c. flour or cornstarch
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/2 Tbsp. butter

Directions

    Stir all ingredients together and cook in double boiler.

    When thickness results, remove from heat and cool.

    Pour into baked pie shell; cover with meringue.
