- 3 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 5 eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. lemon extract
Directions

1Mix together sugar, shortening, 5 egg yolks and the baking powder.

2Add milk and blend.

3Add 3 1/2 cups flour, a little at a time.

4Now, add 5 egg whites and the lemon extract.

5Pour into a 10-inch tube pan and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
