Ingredients

  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 4 egg yolks, beaten well
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • juice and grated rind of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 pt. heavy cream

Directions

    Beat the first 3 ingredients together until stiff.

    On brown paper or parchment lined cookie sheet, shape meringue into shells, either with pastry bag or spoon. Bake at 275° for 1 hour.

    Cool.
