Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. lemon peel, grated
- 2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. pecans, chopped
- 4 tsp. lemon juice
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.

3Add eggs and lemon peel.

4Beat well.

5Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

6Add to creamed mixture and add alternately with milk, beating until smooth, after each addition. Stir in pecans.

7Pour into greased loaf pan.

8Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes or until done.

9Let cool in pan 10 minutes.

10Combine lemon juice and 4 tablespoons of sugar, spoon over top of slightly warm bread.

11Remove from pan; cool, wrap and store overnight before cutting.
