- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 c. heavy cream
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 2 tsp. lemon zest
- 1 loaf stale French, brioche or challah bread
Directions

1Trim crust from bread and cut remainder into 2-inch cubes. Beat eggs and sugar in a large bowl until pale yellow, then add next 5 ingredients.

2Add bread cubes and toss, coating well.

3Pour this mixture into a buttered 13 x 9-inch baking dish.

4Bake at 350° until set, about 30 minutes.

5Transfer baking dish to wire rack and allow to cool slightly.

6Ladle Blueberry-Lemon Sauce over top.
