Ingredients
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/3 to 2/3 c. milk
- 4 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2In large bowl, slightly beat egg.

3Add sugar, salt, shortening and milk; mix well.

4Add yeast mixture; mix well.

5Add flour; mix well.

6Knead well with greased hands.

7Let rise 1 1/2 hours.

8Knead down and form into small balls size of walnuts.

9Turn in oil.

10Put 2 per muffin tin for Parker House rolls and 3 per muffin tin for cloverleaf.

11Let rise 1 1/2 hours.

12Bake at 475° until golden brown.
