- 7 lb. medium cucumbers
- 2 gal. cold water
- 2 c. lime
- 2 qt. vinegar
- 4 1/2 lb. or 8 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. whole cloves
- 1 tsp. pickling spices
Directions

1Slice cucumbers.

2Cover with lime and water solution (might have to add water to make it cover).

3Soak 24 hours.

4Rinse well. Cover with fresh cold water.

5Soak 3 hours longer.

6(This removes the excess lime.)

7Drain.

8Cover with vinegar, sugar and spices. Soak overnight.

9Be sure cucumbers are covered.

10In morning put on stove and boil until clear.

11Pack and seal.

12These stay crisp.

13Can add green food coloring.
