- 7 lb. large cucumbers
- 2 c. white lime, dissolved in 2 gal. water
- 4 1/2 lb. sugar (9 c.)
- 1 tsp. whole cloves (tie in bag with mixed spices)
- 1 tsp. mixed spices (tie in bag with cloves)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 qt. vinegar
Directions

1Slice cucumbers crosswise, about 4 or 5 slices per inch. Cover with white lime dissolved in 2 gallons of water.

2Soak for 2 hours.

3Rinse well.

4Cover with clean, cold water.

5Soak for 2 hours.

6Drain, then add the sugar, cloves and mixed spices tied in bag, salt and vinegar.

7Let stand overnight in this solution (use container you cook them in).

8In the morning, put on stove and boil 35 minutes.

9Put in jars and seal.
