Lime Pickles

Ingredients

  • 2 gal. sliced pickles (I use 2 1/2 gal.)
  • 2 c. lime
  • 2 gal. water
  • 2 qt. vinegar
  • 5 lb. sugar
  • 2 level Tbsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. celery seed
  • 2 sticks cinnamon bark
  • 1 tsp. whole cloves
  • green food coloring

Directions

    Mix lime and water (be sure to have the lime dissolved in water) and pour over pickles.

    Let stand 24 hours, then drain and rinse well.

    Put fresh water over pickles.
  4. 4
    Let stand 3 hours, then drain well.
