Macaroni Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 1/2 c. cooked peas
  • 9 oz. pkg. elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 1 jar or can luncheon meat or 3 to 4 hot dogs

Directions

    Simmer onion in butter until soft.

    Stir in flour, salt and celery salt.

    Gradually add milk and liquid from peas (1/2 cup). Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth. Combine sauce, peas and macaroni in casserole.

    Put thinly sliced meat on top; bake 1/2 hour.
