  • 8 eggs, separated
  • 2 cups (475 ml) sugar
  • 1 cup (225 ml) boiling water
  • 2-1/4 cups (525 ml) sifted flour
  • 3 tsp (15 ml) baking powder
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla

Directions

    Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.

    Add 1 cup (225 ml) of the sugar and the boiling water.

    Add flour and beat until smooth, do not underbeat.

    Add egg whites and rest of the sugar and beat until foamy.

    Add this mixture to the egg yolk mixture.

    Pour in tube pan and bake at 325 degrees (175 C.) for 1 hour.
