- 2 pounds Hamburger Meat
- 1 package Velveeta
- 2 cans Crescent Rolls
- 2 cans Manwich Mix Or Your Favorite Sloppy Joe Mix

1This was a recipe my mother found in a magazine over 20 years ago.

2Originally, it called for making each its own individual filled crescent roll.

3As a young working mother of three, she thought that was too much work and made changes to it to make it one large pie.

4I make this every time my brother is around.

5It is one of his faves!

6Brown the hamburger meat (you can use turkey if you like).

7Add the Manwich mix or make your favorite Sloppy Joe filling.

8Spray a cookie sheet with nonstick spray.

9Open one can of crescent rolls and instead of unrolling them and breaking them apart at the perforations, you unroll and push the perforations together to form one large rectangle.

10Put this into the oven at the temperature on the crescent roll package, for about 5 minutes or until no longer doughy.

11The Sloppy Joe mixture will be sitting on this and you dont want it to be soggy.

12The next part seems a little strange.

13Youre going to do the same thing for the other can of crescent rolls on another cookie sheet (or plastic wrap, but be sure to spray it too).

14This is so that putting the top part of the pie on is easier.

15You can pop this one in the fridge to make it a little more solid while you put together your pie innards.

16After you remove your bottom crust from the oven you want to spoon your sloppy jo mixture down the center of your pie, leaving enough room on the edges for crimping the bottom and the top crust once youre done.

17Slice the Velveeta based on the amount of cheesiness desired and lay it across the top of your Sloppy Joe mixture.

18Remove the top crust from the fridge and invert it on top of your pie.

19Then crimp the edges together with your fingers or a fork.

20Some seams may separate a bit, but the cheesy meaty goodness oozing out looks so yummy!

21Bake at the temperature on the can of crescent rolls until the top is golden brown.

22Slice and serve.

23This is usually served in our house with a side salad and some field peas.
