  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 c. whipping cream
  • 1 baked 9-inch pie shell
  • 3/4 c. maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. maple syrup

    Blend the milk and the cornstarch, the salt and the maple syrup.

    Cook until thickened.

    Add beaten eggs and cook one minute more.

    Stir in butter and pour into shell.

    Whip cream, slowly adding 2 tablespoons maple syrup.

    Spread over cooled pie.

    Top with toasted nuts, such as thinly sliced almonds.
