Ingredients

  • 2 lb. beef stew meat
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 c. water

Directions

    Brown stew meat really well in small amount of oil.

    Put all the ingredients in with the stew meat and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours.

    Then remove bay leaf and garlic.
  4. 4
    Add 6 carrots and cut in 2-inch lengths.

    Pare and halve 6 small potatoes and add 6 small onions.

    Add to meat and simmer for 30 minutes.

    Add 1 cup frozen peas or drained canned peas.
