- 1/4 lb. bacon, cut in pieces
- 4 medium turnips, peeled and cubed
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp. sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 Irish potato, finely chopped
Directions

1In medium saucepan over medium heat, fry bacon for 2 minutes. Stir in turnips, onion, salt, pepper and water.

2Reduce heat and cook for 45 minutes, covered.

3Add potato and cook for 20 minutes more.
