  • 1 frying chicken, cut up
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. Old Bay seasoning

Directions

    Roll chicken in seasoned flour.

    Dip into egg mixed with water, then into crumbs. Brown on all sides in hot fat; cover tightly and cook slowly or bake in moderate oven at 325° to 350° for 1 hour.

    Make cream gravy from drippings and pour over chicken.
