  • 1/2 loaf French bread
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar plus 8 tsp.
  • 4 whole eggs plus 4 egg whites
  • 3 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 c. raisins
  • pinch of cream of tartar

Directions

    Break up bread and soak in milk.

    Add 1/2 cup sugar, 4 whole eggs, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, pecans and raisins.

    Bake in greased 9 x 12-inch dish for 30 minutes at 350°.
