  • 2 lb. lean hamburger or 1 lb. hamburger and 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 clove garlic, minced or crushed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 8 Tbsp. dried parsley
  • 2 Tbsp. Romano or Parmesan cheese
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 2 cans water
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 2 cans water
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 8 Tbsp. dried parsley
  • 2 Tbsp. oil from where meatballs were fried
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • pinch of oregano

Directions

    Bring to a boil, then turn down on medium; add meatballs and cook for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

    The sauce and meatballs can be frozen for a couple of weeks.
