  • whites of 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. and 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar, sifted and measured in cup lightly

Directions

    Beat eggs until foamy; beat in salt and cream of tartar.

    Add sugar a tablespoon at a time, beating gradually, then add powdered sugar.

    Beat until it will not drop from beaters.

    Put on greased wax paper.

    Bake at 275° for 20 minutes.

    Turn off oven and leave in oven for 5 minutes.

    Cool and remove from pan.
