- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Add sugar gradually to beaten egg whites (stiff, but not too dry).

2Also, add cream of tartar.

3Put brown paper on cookie sheet.

4Drop and shape meringue on paper.

5Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 275°.

6Take out and loosen and return to oven for a few minutes longer.
