Ingredients

  • 1 c. yellow corn meal
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 can creamed corn
  • 1 c. cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 (No. 2 1/2) can green chilies (4 oz.), chopped
  • 1/2 lb. grated cheese

Directions

    Mix all ingredients together except the chilies and grated cheese.

    Pour layer of batter into greased 9 x 12-inch pan, then cover with layer of green chilies and a layer of grated cheese. Repeat procedure 3 times, ending with batter on top.

    Bake 1 hour at 400°.
