Microwave Caramel Corn

Ingredients

  • 4 qt. popped popcorn
  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. white corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. soda

Directions

    Mix margarine, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt in a microwave-safe container (2-quart size works well).

    Cook together for 2 minutes after mixture comes to a boil.

    Remove from microwave and stir in soda.

    Put 4 quarts of popcorn into a paper grocery bag.

    Pour sugar mixture over popcorn.

    Close bag, roll down top and shake.

    Place bag in microwave.

    Microwave on High for 1 1/2 minutes.

    Shake; microwave an additional 1 1/2 minutes on High.

    Pour on cookie sheets to cool.
