Microwave Caramel Popcorn

Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/4 c. white Karo syrup
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 to 4 qt. popped popcorn

Directions

    In microwave, bring brown sugar, oleo and syrup to a boil. Boil at full power for 2 minutes.

    Remove from microwave and stir in salt and soda.

    Pour over popped popcorn in brown grocery bag. Close bag and shake well.

    Microwave in bag at full power for 1 1/2 minutes.

    Remove and shake well.

    Return to microwave and cook another 1 1/2 minutes; shake again and cook for third time for 1 1/2 minutes.

    Pour into a shallow pan and cool.
