- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion grated
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/3 cup dried breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon ketchup
- olive oil for frying
- 12 slices cheddar cut into rounds
- 12 bread rolls small white, halved
- 12 lettuce leaves
- barbecue sauce to serve
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the ground beef, onion, egg yolk, breadcrumbs and ketchup into a bowl and mix to combine. Shape into 12 patties the same size as the buns.

2Heat the olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 2 mins each side, or until browned.

3Top each patty with a cheese round and bake for 3 mins, or until the cheese has melted and the patties are cooked through. Preheat the grill.

4Meanwhile, toast the cut sides of the rolls and place a lettuce leaf on the bottom halves. Top with a meat patty, drizzle with barbecue sauce and finish with the top halves of the rolls.

5Place the other half of the bun on top and secure with a wooden skewer.
