  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • peppermint extract
  • food coloring

Directions

    In 2-quart glass measuring cup, combine sugar, corn syrup, milk and cream of tartar.

    Cook on High 5 to 6 minutes or until a few drops of mixture in cold water forms a soft ball (238° on candy thermometer).

    Let stand 3 minutes to cool slightly.

    Beat with electric mixer until creamy.

    Flavor with 8 to 10 drops extract and color with food coloring.

    Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls onto foil.

    When cool, store in airtight container. Makes approximately 36 servings.
