  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 tsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust
  • nutmeg to taste

Directions

    Heat milk and butter to boiling point in a saucepan. Beat whole eggs lightly in a bowl.

    Add sugar and vanilla to egg mixture. Stir in milk. Bake at 475° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° and cook until pie is firm. If pie browns too fast, cover the entire pie with foil until pie is done.
