- 4 cups walnut halves
- 12 cup granulated sugar
- 2 quarts water
- vegetable oil
- salt
Directions

1Preheat oil in a stock pot to 350 degrees (medium high heat).

2In a large stock pot boil water.

3Add Walnut halves and boil for 1 minute.

4Drain walnuts in a colander and rinse with very hot water.

5In a large bowl, gently stir walnuts with sugar until sugar dissolves.

6Let stand for 5 minutes if necessary.

7Fry walnuts in hot oil until golden brown (about 5 minutes).

8Drain walnuts and sprinkle slightly with salt.
