- 3 c. self-rising corn meal
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Grease skillet or muffin pan.

3Place corn meal in large mixing bowl.

4Stir egg and milk into the same bowl.

5Mix these ingredients very well.

6Add vegetable oil and sugar.

7Stir until batter is pourable.

8Pour batter into prepared skillet or pan.

9Bake for 35 minutes or top surface is golden brown.

10Yields 8 servings per mixture.
