  • 2 qt. (1/2 gal.) sweet apple cider
  • 1 tsp. whole cloves
  • 1 tsp. whole allspice
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 3 inches stick cinnamon
  • 1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar (brown or white)

    Put cider in large pan.

    Put all the spices in large tea bag, strainer or cheesecloth; boil for 10 to 20 minutes.

    Remove spices.

    Can be stored and reheated later.

    Serve hot with orange slices as floaters.

    Makes about 10 to 16 cups.
