Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brandy
  • 1 None orange, peel cut into strips
  • 1 None lemon, peel cut into strips
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 sticks cinnamon
  • 8 None whole cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 bottles (750 ml) Merlot red wine

Directions

    Place brandy, 3/4 cup water, orange and lemon peels, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in a large saucepan on medium heat. Bring to a simmer. Simmer for 10 mins to blend flavors.

    Add red wine and return to a simmer. Remove from heat. Cool slightly and serve warm or at room temperature.
