Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 c. melted butter
  • 10 slices buttered bread, cubed
  • 1/2 c. onions
  • 1/2 c. celery
  • 1/2 c. green pepper
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1 c. Cheddar cheese
  • salt, pepper, parsley, garlic

Directions

    In the melted butter, saute mushrooms, onions, celery, green peppers, parsley and garlic.

    Salt and pepper to taste.

    Put half the bread in bottom of pan (separate pan).

    Add mayonnaise to sauteed mixture.

    Pour mixture over bread in pan.

    Add the remaining bread.

    Mix eggs, milk and soup together and pour over bread.

    Bake for 30 minutes at 350°.

    Top with cheese.
