  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. dark corn syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. quick cooking oats
  • 1 unbaked pie shell

Directions

    Cream together butter and sugar.

    Add cinnamon and cloves. Stir in syrup.
  3. 3
    Add eggs, one at a time, stirring after each addition until blended.
  4. 4
    Stir in rolled oats.
  5. 5
    Pour the mixture into pie shell and bake at 350° about 1 hour or until knife, inserted in center, comes out clean.

    During the baking the oatmeal forms a chewy nut-like crust on top.
