  • 1 lb. loaf wheat bread, torn
  • 2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 1/2 c. grated carrots
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 lb. chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 c. chopped parsley
  • 1 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. sage
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 eggs, well beaten

Directions

    Combine celery, bread, carrots and parsley in a large bowl. Saute onion and mushrooms in butter.

    Add seasonings and stir. Pour over bread mixture and toss lightly.

    Add eggs and water and toss again.

    Stuff turkey just before roasting.

    Sufficient for 11 to 14 pound turkey.
