Ingredients
- 1 lb dried navy beans
- 2 carrots, grated
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 smoked ham hocks
- 2 celery ribs, chopped
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans fat-free chicken broth
- water
- salt & pepper
Directions

1Place beans in a saucepan, cover with water and soak overnight or If you can't soak overnight, place beans in a pot with water to cover and bring to a boil.

2Boil one minute and turn off heat.

3Let stand for one hour.

4After one hour drain and add chicken broth and water to cover.

5Add onion, celery and carrot.
-
6Bring to a boil and cook until done.

7Remove ham bone an dice meat.

8Return meat to bean pot.

9Adjust salt & pepper.

10Serve.
