  • 1 tsp. dill seed
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed garlic
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1/4 c. salt

    Fill jars with cucumber spears.

    Put powdered alum on top with dill seed and crushed garlic.

    Mix and boil the water, vinegar and salt.

    Pour hot liquid over pickles.

    Screw lid on tight, no need to process.

    Good to eat in a few days.
